Empty Page

A Poem by 0_o Abbie

An empty page,
Waiting for words to cage.

Words that flow,
Either yes, no, or maybe so.

Something that breaks the barrier,
Between pen and paper.

Scratch scratch,
The pen has met his match.

They battle for just the right word,
1st, 2nd, maybe the 3rd.

Try and try again,
Fight hard does the pen.

Each stroke,
Feelings are invoked.

It's an expression,
Sometimes teaching a lesson.

A tear hits the page,
The thoughts they age.

Finally the words are in their proper cage,
There they sit on a page.

But really, now they're more than just words,
Battle hardened, they have meaning like the songs of the birds.

Not just one meaning,
But others too they are feigning.

They have a song to sing,
A battle cry to bring.
