The longest distance often lies within; but when we chance upon someone that we love, that distance becomes palpable, touchable, and real. In a moment of anticipation, we are filled with so much: thoughts of rejection, wanting the moment to be as perfect as we dream, always wondering what the other will think.
Your words allowed me to ride the distance between her plane and your breath. When the miles closed between the two, I whispered a sigh of relief to know that she had safely landed in your arms.
With so much sadness in the news today between the one plane disappearing and the other being shot down and the hundreds of lives lost, I really thought this was heading towards disaster.
I am relieved that the ending was a happy one and can but hope that it would have been the same for all those lost.
Beautiful!

Truly good story poem. It sounds so real and fascinating, people can meet in any usual and unusual way...I like how you described it, there is much rhythm in your verses. Great piece :)
This choked me up a little because this is how I met my ex. I am in California and he is in Florida. I finally flew out to meet him in person and I was so nervous. It didn't end well, but it was still magical at first. Seeing someone you have longed for for so long is a wonderful experience. Great work on this, I love that it is told from both perspectives.
I like this very much. It is so effective it nearly gives the reader butterflies. Anticipation can kill ya!! haha... Waiting and hoping and just that holding her tight was worth the miles... no words necessary. It has a sweetness that I really like. Thank you for just penning this sweet meeting.
Finally!! A great short story poem and I have to say what an intriguing wright and the vivid picture you have release in your poem Wow! i enjoyed the read :) Thanks for sharing :)

I am humbled by this wonderful comment. Thank you for reading!
I thought this was a very nice poem! :) It conveys the feelings of the man's anxiety and anticipation while waiting for her safe landing, the excitement he experiences, and the joy that he feels once he sees her :) Very nice!
