Finally! They get to see each other.

Finally! They get to see each other.

A Poem by Blogger

     The long awaited meeting

An adrenaline Rush! An upcoming conference
She would finally get to see him late this November!

A late call to him, he excitedly listened
He would finally be able to wrap his arms around her!

~~~~~~~~
He would meet her late afternoon flight
He thought, we can dine and dance all night!
Finally the time to see him was soon to be here
Her pounding, aching heart would fill her with cheer
~~~~~~~~

He arrived early at her gate.....So that he could wait (and
wait!)
Will I know what to do? Will I know what to say?

~~~~~~~~
The announcement is made to all in the airborne room
And all in the plane feel impending doom
He got the cautious news from those on the ground
Can this be true? He asks as his hands start to
pound
She sits buckled in and she prays and she prays
She asks HIM to help the pilots to find a way
The big metal bird finally lands -Major delays
All is all right, they all received HIS praise
~~~~~~~~

Anxiously he awaits, trying to put himself at ease...

She thinks, Will he? Is he? Oh Please!

He pushes up close along with all the others

She desperately tries to maintain her druthers
~~~~~~~~
Their eyes finally meet, two uneasy smiles
It seems like its been two billion miles
She says to him softly, I'm sorry I'm so late.
He says nothing to her. He only holds her tight.
The longest distance often lies within; but when we chance upon someone that we love, that distance becomes palpable, touchable, and real. In a moment of anticipation, we are filled with so much: thoughts of rejection, wanting the moment to be as perfect as we dream, always wondering what the other will think.
Your words allowed me to ride the distance between her plane and your breath. When the miles closed between the two, I whispered a sigh of relief to know that she had safely landed in your arms.
With so much sadness in the news today between the one plane disappearing and the other being shot down and the hundreds of lives lost, I really thought this was heading towards disaster.
I am relieved that the ending was a happy one and can but hope that it would have been the same for all those lost.
Beautiful!
Thank you Angela.
This choked me up a little because this is how I met my ex. I am in California and he is in Florida. I finally flew out to meet him in person and I was so nervous. It didn't end well, but it was still magical at first. Seeing someone you have longed for for so long is a wonderful experience. Great work on this, I love that it is told from both perspectives.
Thank you dear.
I like this very much. It is so effective it nearly gives the reader butterflies. Anticipation can kill ya!! haha... Waiting and hoping and just that holding her tight was worth the miles... no words necessary. It has a sweetness that I really like. Thank you for just penning this sweet meeting.
Thank you my sweet friend...
I thought this was a very nice poem! :) It conveys the feelings of the man's anxiety and anticipation while waiting for her safe landing, the excitement he experiences, and the joy that he feels once he sees her :) Very nice!
