I write...I erase

I write...I erase

A Poem by Kat Williams
"

thinking..reaction

"

I write

And then I erase

I write again

Erase

Again

Trying to make the perfect sentence

One that reflects

Me

Without revealing

Me

Or rather

My feelings

For

You

So I write

Again

Only to erase

Again

Not letting the pain

Shine thru

Is my next goal

So I write

Again

Not letting you know

That my love for you

So I erase

Again

Not letting you know

How a single sentence

From you

Makes me reflect

Reminisce

Remind me of

So I write

Again

Attempting to come off

As you appear to me

Grown

Calm

Over

Me

So I erase

Again

Til the sentence reads

As if I didn’t write it

Borrowed from the handbook

Of past relationships

Gone wrong

Attempting

Life

As friends

Only

I love this.

"Til the sentence reads

This makes me think about how it is for me to write poems.
I write some lines, go back and reread then end up scratching it out...just to write again.

Then possibly scratch that out.
To just write again.

Love it.

Yeah, I know this feeling first hand. How many times have I tried to write these stories and not place myself in the characters too much. This is why I don't write poetry too often. I don't want to show too much of me to who has left... this keeps people wondering. I know what it's like, for real. You always know how to convey the complicated emotions without the complicated wording yet... no one can do this like this but you. Great again.
