Subtracting the entire

Time I was trying to add

Water

Flour

Yeast

No rise

 

Except in my c**t

 

I tried for a minute or two

To become in tune

In synch with her

With a relationship

With what that means

Cool on paper

Add water in real life

 

Tears and shreds

Ink fading

Disappearing

Before I had a chance to

Really write how I feel

What I could give

 

Or read what you wrote

About what you wanted

What you needed

 

So we keep trying

Though I ain’t really here

Declaring what ain’t real
