A Poem by Kat Williams

We have many
Some about nothing
Others covering more of nothing

She likes to tease me
I let her

I like to provoke her
She lets me

She is my chicken little
I am her big bad wolf
Neither real

I am her chicken little
She is my big bad wolf
Real to each other

We talk about why the world is flat and the sky is the color of purple mimosas on Tuesday
How by Friday it's round and the sky well the sky is any color we want it to be

I tell her about my childhood
About the day I discovered that ants do bite little chocolate girls
And how bees love to nibble on their sweetness.

She's caramel sweeter than me
Nicer than me
She…
She should be bitten and nibbled on daily

She goes into detail on the merits of the regular ingestion of fruit and fiber
And Jesus and love and women being right and oh so wrong

I agree

We talk about youth, her youth.
Old age, my age
Both still learning

We speak on sex
We write on sex
We come back to sex

She pays attention and knows I love to dance…
With her

I pay attention when we are dancing

Pay attention to how we sway together
Comfortable
Sexual
We come back to sex

Talking
Texting
Teasing
Tantalizing
Our mental
State of being

We reach
We stretch
We push…

Each other

Write me
Write for me
Give me something
That's you
Only you
Can feed me

Me and My
Punk
Talking under our rainbow umbrella…umbrella

Nice write. I love the continuous give and take of this piece, it reflects a sort of ebb and flow that is evidently real between the author and the subject. I like how this dances along the fringes of possibility of a girl-girl relationship without actually disclosing anything. I like the suggestion.

I think I've been inspired!

While reading this, my mind gave me very clear visuals...on everything.
I enjoyed reading this.
I read it more than once...before placing it in my library so that I can read it again.
