I am not a poetA Poem by Kat WilliamsSo this is like my 3rd time up here The first two was sorta rough Then it clicked to me I am not a poet I was like whoa But I thought… Then I was like f**k it The pay aint that great anyway I was confused by the fact that I couldn’t sway the crowd With my intelligence and wit Cause u know a sista think she smart right? All I did was Uhmmm Aw.. and let me start over No dropping of metaphors And intelligent dogma About the black man Black woman Black family MLK…happy birthday Nope I was that chick everybody tuned out Heck I tuned out Cause standing up here with that hot a*s light on ya Ain’t no joke Its like being in the middle a baby pool trying to do the running man Contrary to popular video belief all black women can’t dance though the a*s myth is true So I said self Get up there Spew forth All your wordly knowledge In 3 mins of less Yeah that should just about do it
All right I ain't a poet
