Wordless and Worthless

Wordless and Worthless

A Poem by Madelyn Defray
"

Wordless and Worthless

"

Poetry knows no bounds

Limitless; it is endless

Repetitive; it is redundant

Meaning becomes purpose

Words become a story

Writers find themselves at liberty to say

Nothing comprehensible

Soundless music envelopes structure

Tone envokes emotion

Literary devices entice the reader

Punctuation becomes non-existant

Comradery is found in open, white spaces

As the stanzas grow longer

And the words become smaller

It appears that the finish is near

But what does is matter?

Nobody reads poetry.

It's meant to be ironic. Whoever is reading the poem is in fact reading poetry.

lol ah I see
This a very profound piece of work. Poetry is the best form of self expression when there's no one to talk to. So it has some value. Keep up the good work. :)

Hey, I love to use and over-use punctuation. But you have something here, it seems only poets read poetry right? And style outweighs context far and wide. Love poems are like the first poem ever but now it is type-cast as overt sentimentalism and frowned upon or looked at as hyper-cheesery. I enjoyed reading this! friends?

I hate filling in the giant 'about me' information boxes because there really isn't anything special worth mentioning which of course leads to a blank box followed by the re-thinking of the sad, pathe.. more..
