Lie With An Angel

Lie With An Angel

A Poem by Megan

You're the familiar tune I hear in my head
A tune that carries me to serenity
They say don't rest your happiness in a person
But they never said a thing about angels
I've wrestled with the devil
But I'm ready to lie with an angel
Darkness never exists where you reside
It used to be jailed inside my rib cage
You've got Heaven's eyes
And Hell's smile
Carry me to serenity
Let me feel a little warmth
I've been feelin' cold for far too long
Give me a taste of Heaven
I've been down below for quite some time.

I like the concept in your opening line - the "familiar tune I hear in my head..." You work the contrast well, though I feel like this piece could be fleshed out a bit.
