Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Megan

We're drowning in the washed up current

Our unspoken words whirl over our heads

Creating a hurricane of regretted tides

I've grown used to treading water

But at this point, I've forgotten how to swim

After years of the grip loosening

We finally let go

As I descend under the deep waters

I look up

And see you carelessly swimming.
