His Eyes

His Eyes

A Poem by Megan

The blue eyes of my star-crossed lover

Are known for making a waterfall out of a hurricane

Each speckle carries another 100 reasons why I can't live without him

His eyes feel like home

They feel like the delicate rise and fall of his chest

As long as he's breathing

I can sleep at ease

His eyes are a deep sea blue

Where I remain resting on the ocean floor

As his arms cradle me until dawn breaks

When the light gleams into his irises

And lets me float in the speckled waters

He taught me how to love

His eyes taught me how to swim.
