As the Ink Dries

As the Ink Dries

A Poem by Megan

As the ink dries in stone

You remain unaware of the light you've shown

My words are yours to keep

Written after the words I could never speak

And the glances never to return

Your image is locked inside, sealed with a burn

As the ink dries

Your image is engraved across the skies

As days and nights come and go

You might not ever know

That the words I've written in stone, burned inside, and engraved in the skies

Are all for you, written as the ink dries.

Beautiful! I love the wording and the meaning.
The part that I think was the most powerful was
" As the ink dries,
Your image engraved across the skies,".
you should be proud!
