Why I'm Here

Before I was born, my mother had two daughters

Five year old Niki, and newborn Lindsay

Sadly, Lindsay passed away at four days old because of heart complications

My parents tried and tried to have another child

I eventually made my way here

But here's the thing,

My parents originally only wanted two children

If Lindsay hadn't died, I might have not been born

My mother also said she'd stop trying to have another child once she reached 40 years old

I was born the day before her 40th birthday

I crept my way into this world for a reason

I was given the last minute chance to live and breathe for a reason

I will find that reason.

Powerful shift to the ending. I love this story for it is very clear now that you are here for a reason (and good luck on finding that reason, Megan!).. Uhm, I think this would be better if you use poetic devices instead of being too literal.. Imagery is a powerful tool, too. Anyway, good write! :x
