She'd Break Down

She'd Break Down

A Poem by Megan

The girl who smiles for everyone else

Never does the same for herself

It seemed like nothing ever got to her

But when she got home

She'd break down

She sees other girls getting more attention than her every day

She pretends it doesnt bother her

Her mother makes remarks about her weight every day

She pretends to ignore it

She doesn't have a whole lot of friends

She pretends she's okay with it

She doesn't cry every single night

But when she breaks down

She crumbles

The next day she has a smile again

That girl is me

Yes I do continue to grow stronger

I may have my breakdowns

But I can truthfully tell you

My scars have healed

And I do not plan on getting any new ones.
