If You Were Here

If You Were Here

A Poem by Megan

I lay with empty arms in your old t-shirt
It still smells like the cologne you always wore
I stare at the almost empty bottle, my reflection looking back at me
A tear sheds and hits the soft cotton
If you were here, I know you would have caught it
Every night I still fall asleep in your protecting arms
I still awaken you to a kiss on the forehead every morning
I still keep you with me like I promised I would.

M...this resonates. Maybe we've all been separated this way. Only sure that I've felt like this and seen others like this as well. Thanx...well done...bobc
