Butterflies

Butterflies

A Poem by Megan

We treat them like they're caterpillars
Then, wonder why they aren't butterflies
We simply glance at their teary eyes
Then wonder why they left this Earth
Maybe they felt ignored
Maybe we need to change
Maybe if we treat them like butterflies
They won't feel like caterpillars.

i'm hardly convinced you've even looked at a butterfly. or a caterpillar. not being mean. just telling you so that you might get closer to experiencing things before trying to put wings on a poem. go out and look closer at these creatures. walk around them. learn about them. then come back and write.
yadda yadda, your poem Is metaphorical. I get that. though my advice remains.
