![]() Love is Just a WordA Poem by Erika Jones![]() Another poem I wrote last year (insert heart here)![]() Love is just a word It's nothing but a tyrant bird It's a song that the tyrant bird sings Where it draws us in with unexpected strings And poisons us with unexpected bites and stings Love is just a word that tears at your soul Leaving nothing but an unhealed hole It's where the tyrant bird has torn us apart from the inside out With it's sharp talons and filled us with doubt As it sings its song of poison, chest proudly stuck out Love is the word of heartbreak That leaves nothing but heartache It's when the tyrant birds poison song brought nothing but pain Making tears fall like acid rain As we stay in the dark, our hands now a crimson stain Love is the word that brought this tyrant bird to it's grave alone Where it's song of poison is silent, carved forever in stone. © 2012 Erika JonesAuthor's Note
