You don't Understand

You don't Understand

A Poem by BleedMyHeartOut

You don't understand

This fear, and its demand

To gather and hide this collective darkness

Quietly releasing a hiss,

Just as you say to let it out,

My insides shout

To put up the wall,

That may never fall,

And close all the ways in

So that you may never be under my skin

And so that you can never enter my heart,

But it's too late to start

The defense that it takes,

To prevent the high stakes,

That come with loving you,

The amazing being who,

I am slowly forfeiting defenses for

As you ask for more and more

And as I give you my heart and soul,

Darkness takes a diminishing toll

And as you promise me more than the stars above,

You earn my unending love.

this is really good, but you should try writing poems that don't rhyme. you'll find it's a lot easier to write the poem and get your meaning through without racking your brain for a word that rhymes
