You'd never let me restA Poem by BleedMyHeartOutYou'd never let me rest I always had to do my best Which was never enough So you'd storm away in a huff. The loss of you will not own me I will be who I need to be. I cannot always be your whitest mat That will lie down flat For you to tread upon I am not a weak little fawn. And cannot help but retain The mud that decided to remain And spit it back out Upon that constant pout That begs for pity When I live in this place so gritty. While you live your perfect life I will push away the knife That needs to haunt my dreams As I fall apart at the seams.
