Innocence

Innocence

A Poem by BleedMyHeartOut

"Innocence where did you run off to?" you ask.

It didn't run off.

You stabbed it in the neck

And let yourself be indulged in guilt,

While innocence bled to death.

So congratulations;

You killed the innocence in both of us,

Leaving me to wonder why.

OOOoh, this poem was short- sweet and to the point. by sweet I don't mean in a happy ever after way but...in a way that was blunt and that's like sweets to me ^.^. you expressed innocence as if it's a live person that floats away over time. but somebody took it away from you when they did something that you shouldn't have known about or, seen or heard...? either way I related to this and really liked it. Mainly because many people are robbed of there innocence and you spelled it out, exactly right. making it sound, harsh and straight forward. brava.
