A Sword to Live by and a Reason to Die

A Sword to Live by and a Reason to Die

A Story by BlazingKid13

To fight for the nation.
Every day I swung a sword.
Until my hands bled,
Every hour I hold a sword.
Even when I am injured or sick,
Every day I must swing a sword.
Now what?
I only have a sword.
What do you expect from me?
I can't farm.
I can't cook.
I can't read.
I can't write.
I don't know anything else besides the way of the sword.
Even if the nation forsakes me,
I can only have a sword,
until a sword haves me.
