Lust/Longing - Theme 3A Poem by BlaqkShadowA poem about rediscovering lust and longing after a duration
A searing scarlet flame scorches and stings my nerves,
Overwhelming, overtaking and obliterating. I had thrown myself into cold isolation and turned my back to physical temptations, Holding my grey throne four long years. With a gentle hand I was led back into a rose tinted world, And now, A strange sensation; a fire that rages, it calms for none but him. Together we are high enough to count the stars, Our rapturous moments carry us heavenward, only to crash to Earth with crushing ecstasy. And then, The gentle night and cool wind covers and caress our ravaged souls, Freedom lies in these moments and for one whisper of a second, eternity is ours. If it could soothe my spirit as easily maybe I could know joy, If it could stop the beat of my mind maybe I could know contentment, If I could cease to worry and cry, Maybe I could learn love.
