Autumn - Theme 31A Poem by BlaqkShadowMy favourite time of year, That's 'fall' to American readers. :D Part of a 50 themes project.Autumn is the sunset of the seasons, Leaves of burning orange, yellow and red A last glimpse at life before the grey of winter. Remnants of summer with a sharp edge of cold, The smell of earth and rain on the wind, A small ache as the nights draw in, But a relief from heat and' piercing morning sun. Autumn is nature's last breath, A last minute bloom, a last show from the trees. Autumn is when the Earth's finest bounty is harvested, Fruits and vegetables in rainbow piles, Filling the air with a sweet scent, Grains in golden bundles, The labours of man and God fulfilled. Autumn is the finished project that spring began. It is the end of the years colours, Before winter wipes it clean with the pure white snow. Autumn is a blessing.
