Okay, a bit of explanation is need for this one.
It's about what happens when people try so hard to be remembered for things they have done and end up losing themselves in the process.
A silhouette cast by something that once was.
A tale spun by many a man in an attempt at grandiose aggrandisement of his ego,
Incredible work as always, Cypher. This has given me a lot to think about. For isn't that what humans want, to be remembered, whether for their achievements or merely for their existence and impact? But when that desire is insatiable it can also be toxic. A very intelligent piece.

This was incredibly well written. Sometimes I write things for just me to fully understand and to let others minds ponder at it. I feel like this might have been the same kind of thing. Outstanding job BlankCypher
This is mysterious and clever!
But I would accept that I'm not able to really understand what it means.
Its not always understanding but even the reader should feel some connection. This one lacked it. No offence. I'm just saying you could have expressed everything much smoothly.
Thats what poetry is about. Connection with a persons mind.

It's symbolising what happens when someone tries so hard to make themselves seem so much more than they are, that they become a shadow of themselves :)
I like this poem, it has a mysterious air to it, but also a largely symbolic air to it, I don't know what it is about this piece, but I feel drawn to it, I like it. Very good work, keep it up!
It is a large amount of symbolism, almost purely so ^_^
I'm glad you like it man :D

I imagine people love them nostalgically
I don't pretend to understand what all this means, but I disagree that perpetual anonymity, if you had said perpetual animosity, some bizarre nerve in me says I would rather agree with that, but that makes no sense, sorry.
My favorite part is: *"There are no expectations,/No lies of false grandeur./Just what is, /and what never was."
