Hearts break quicker than glass

All it takes to shatter a soul,

is a singular well-placed word.

A single goodbye left unsaid,

even a lone tear shed unnecessarily.

Crushed into dust,

but my broken heart lives on.

He is battered and bruised but he still struggles on.

It does work,

Please tell me it works.

I would shatter any number of mirrors,

to go to the other side.

Just to meet the man I should have been.
