Bury me at Sea

Bury me at Sea

A Poem by BlankCypher

Set afloat in the waters of Darkness.
My lungs filling with liquid,
Viscous and suffocating.
Am I dead yet?

If not then I wish to stay,
stay in the water that calls my soul to sleep.
As my organs fail I truly understand,
exactly what this life means to me.

If I survive the drowning,
I may return to this semblance of living.
But please take note of a single request,
regardless of outcomes,
regardless of consequence.

I wish to be buried at sea

This is incredibly intense. I've many times imagined the sea as a living being - powerful, dangerous and seductive. And these words match that perfectly, equal parts mesmerising and sinister. Beautifully crafted piece. You have quite the way with words, sir!
