Something I wrote #2

Something I wrote #2

A Poem by A.B.
"

A poem about a girl who gets her heart broken. Her lover cheats on her.

"

You said I was the moon in your night's sky.

I was beautiful; I shined bright.

No stars could compare to me.

You said your past represented the black sky;

The clouds were your past mistakes,

And the stars were your jealous ex lovers.

They twinkled with charm;

They tried to steal my beauty.

But I was your moon.

I stood boldly and proud,

Untouched by the jealous stars.

I lit up your world of loneliness.

I stole your fear of living life unloved.

I then managed to steal your broken heart.

You said you would love me as long as the moon remained in the sky.

The moon lives there to this night.

High up in the blackened sky;

The stars, they are still dancing.

But now the clouds try to hide me.

You can’t see my light as clearly.

I am so sorry.

Wait for the clouds to move.

I’m still here,

Guiding your way.

Please don’t look away.

Don’t follow those dazzling stars.

We’ve come too far.
