Rise Sun

It’s time that you and I

get acquainted again

I remember you

like it was just yesterday

And it was

When I sat amongst the flowers and trees

and watched you glow

As you rose high above them and me

Don’t you remember?

I told you how beautiful you were then

And every time I got to see you

You didn’t say a word

But I knew you heard me

Because I could feel your warmth surround me

Rise Sun

Though, as you are now

Still drowsy from the night before

I must say you do look lovely;

Sky blue against your bergamot colored skin

Rise Sun

Today is another day

And I’m going to need you to rise

To make it any kind of day at all

This was truly beautiful. There aren't many moments when I feel so at a loss for words but wow. Nature sure is a lucky lady, huh? She's worth a conversation or two. I love when the sun is personified as a means to highlight it's magnificence. Simple message. Truly meaningful. Great read.
