You're More than Words

You're More than Words

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield

How do I say to thee
Just how lovely you are to me
As sure as the stars and sun shine
I'm forever grateful that your mine

Your heart so full of love
I'd swear you're an angel from above
And when I look into your eyes
I see heavenly skies

Could it be an infatuation
Could it just be that you're a sensation
Something so perfect and true
I just want to know everything there is about you

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as thee
For no words posses
Your beauty, brains, heart and finesse

I was reflecting on a few line from Juliana Hatfield's song "Feelin' Massachusetts" and came up with this. The lines were as follows:
I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree

i love the last rhyme posses/finesse. i like seeing expansive vocabularies! that aside, this is a sweet, honest poem i truly enjoyed reading. sometimes i get bogged down in all the sad poetry i find, and then i stumble upon one that not only makes me happy, but one i can also relate to. thank you so much for sharing, and keep it up!
