Little Sister You Are BeautifulA Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
Little sister please slow for a moment
Listen to me Little sister don't let the world get you down Don't fall for all the things they shoot at you The air-wave bullets, 30 seconds at at time The magazine meant to shine Show you what they idolize Little sister, this not for you Little sister please, give me a moment of your time Dearest sister You are on your way Beautiful and bright, truest of heart You can't believe the rhetoric they use to rip you apart In their world, they want you to be Two dimensional, to emaciated, airbrushed, sliced and sedated Reaching for a dream laid out cover to cover Latest craze in an empty magazine Just one pill, nip and tuck When you fall for it, you could be lost Little sister please, don't fall away My sister, my sister, my cherished friend You have to see that you are Something so beautiful with those bright eyes Your hair blows in the wind, lifted by prayers Of all the true gentlemen who wished you were their love They don't fall into the traps of Madison Ave and Hollywood They want something real, someone true Little sister can't you see, their someone is you Sister, open your eyes and see That you just need to live happy and well Take your time, and enjoy Be cautious and learn when to throw it to the wind Open your heart and let your mind see Little sister you are perfect as you are No need to fall for the misguided views of the empty My darling sister you are beautiful © 2011 Blake Q HatfieldReviews
