She's the One You Want

She's the One You Want

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield

She smiles and it feels like summer on the coldest day
She touches and it causes the rage to dissipate
She winks and the sun smiles upon the land again
And the wind only blows to let her hair flow gently

Not many can make an impact
Walking into a room of strange faces
But there she goes, pace by pace she amazes
Holding court like a Queen
With the charm of an immortal
And the poise so rare
You'd think her a goddess of some sort
Or possibly the second one we've been waiting for
Even if ancient and fracture logic forbids such thought

And all you want, is all you see
Nothing else in sight, except the beauty that is she
You want to hold, but you fear you'll burn in her light
You want to love but you're afraid to lose
Even as your heart accelerates to test your will
You stand, afraid of trying

She doesn't see the way we do
Her x-ray vision lets her see us all
Beyond the glam and glitter, and story lines
You car cannot drive her to you
And no matter the Presidents in your pocket
She doesn't have the price you're willing to pay
Because she's not about that type of capitol

And you wonder how you could be with a woman like her
What is it that she needs to call you home
Could you write her a sonnet to woo her
Or possibly somehow be the one to rescue her from those that only do her wrong
Or is it just you she's been looking for all this time
No frills or excessive labels needed
She's not a cookie cutter, brand name kinda woman
All she ever wanted was the real and honest world

So all you ever need to do is just be you
And a woman like her could fall to you
If you heart is true, and you are genuine
The greatest of ladies will see you in their light
So don't be afraid to shine
And go after her
She's the one you want
The long lost home you've been waiting for

Another one from my lost computer (circa 2006). This one is about being true, and in doing so attracting that special someone to that truth.
