The Ballad of the DramaticA Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
She thinks it's suicide when she doesn't get her way
She thinks you should always abide to the things she says But there's nothing comprehendable coming out of her mouth There's no sense in her head, mind void of substance and soul Stuck on the CW over dramatic episodes Of teens with lives so great that they explode With every moment of giving in, loss of self control Just another uncontrollable mistake you should learn to let go Because she should be the only one, the center of the world She thinks it's suicide when you don't pay attention To every single thing, every move and motion Reacting like a child, shouting at the world Your life is of no matter, she thinks you should let it go It's her world now, her time to steer, to be the captain at the wheel And you fell for every dirty trick, sugar coated and laced With all the feelings and emotions you always wanted to know What you thought was real was merely the quiet before the storm Of all the crazy things she put you through, cuts at your soul You're no more than a toy in her juvenile world She thinks it's suicide when she doesn't get her way When the world refuses to bow to her ego, crown her as a gilded Queen Not seeing that's there nothing there but unearned confidence Plenty of rhetorical sound, but not a true word said It felt like a great death, every word you wasted, every moment you spent With the one who entrapped you in an over dramatic scene But that was the one, she was the one, the perfect one to mess with your head Here you are on edge, wondering how the hell you were blinded so You've become changed, your world rearranged Thinking that suicide would be the way to finally let go To get her out of your mind, forget ever being in her world So she can use your lackluster fall for her ego's fire And become the Queen of some other fool's broken world © 2010 Blake Q Hatfield |
