A Little Lie to Heal

A Little Lie to Heal

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield

Tell me, tell me that you love me
Tell me, tell me that you care
Truth or lie is not important
I just need to believe that you could be there

I just want to believe
That something could be special just for me
A tender kiss upon the cheek
A held hand, a warm hug
Nothing could be better, nothing could be greater
Even if just for a moment of time

Fool me, fool me, feel free to deceive
Give a fond memory to me
Stroke my hair, run your hand by my cheek
Hold my chin up and glance into my eyes
Look at me with the intention
Of making me forget the lows of life
If it's not truth I don't mind

Pull me in using all the dreams revealed to you
Just remember to make me forget
All the worries flying through my weary mind
My soul restless with rest hard to find
Help me with something to cut through this foggy life

Tell me, tell me that you love me
Tell me, tell me that you care
I just want anything, something to make me smile
To forget this world for awhile
