She

She

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield

She, colorblind with sparkling eyes
She, with smile brighter than the sun
She, kind and tender touch
She, with voice so serene and sweet

And you can't tell me
That there's anything more
She fills the void your desire leaves
She is all you ever hoped for

She, a beauty that cannot be measured or contained
She, the definition of her majesty to hard to explain
She, the healer of stress and pain
She, the wildfire that sets your heart aflame
She, the one you never want to be without

In all of creation there is nothing better
Thank the times she shines upon you
She is grace, she is every definition of perfection
And she is all you ever want to know

Author's Note

Blake Q Hatfield
The first line, and the idea to do this poem came from the Throwing Muses song "Not Too Soon," with a bit of inspiration from the works of the great Graham Parsons. The poem is about the perfect woman, and how it's hard to really define that perfection, especially since the definition of that perfection is subjective. It's about the way that she makes you feel like the world is one wonderful place.
