The Glitter of Stars

The Glitter of Stars

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield

Eye to eye
Cheek to cheek
They danced along the gilded road
The crowds gathered around
One boy stopped them with a curious stare
And they stopped and greeted him
A hug and a sparkling smile
And as he left the embrace
He waved to them with a love filled smile
Nothing says love like a selfless hug

A man lines up to begin a race
The assembled all laugh and stare
The man then begins to slip towards giving up
But as he looks out there
He sees someone who believes
A small child with his thumbs turned up with a determined stare
Nothing says hope like a child

He was the meanest man you ever did meet
Destroying everything in his path
Then one day someone came out of nowhere to hold his hand
Although he tried to keep her out
She made her way in with patience and understanding
Nothing heals like a caring heart

A simple smile
To the gentle touch of a heart
A kind look to a passer by
With a hug for a new friend
It's a way to understand
It's a way to heal the world
And create something better
A world where we get a second chance
At love and life

Nothing says love like a selfless hug

This has a really good message. Kindness in the smallest form matters to others. Enjoyable read.
