Touch

Touch

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield

Whenever I'm lost
All I can see is you
Whenever I've lost my way
All I can see is you

It's a heart attack every time
I can feel my erratic heart beating
I wanted to find something more than fleeting
I'm stuck staring back in time
I can't see the future in front of my face
I'm lost without you

Once I was a man, I was human, I was sane
Slowly I have reverted to feral nature
My humanity is slowly slipping away
I just need a reach, a touch, a speech
I need something to keep me from loosing control
A sweet sonnet, a tender voice to ease my mind
A wild horse, a monstrous side, a fierce beast
I need a line to keep me tethered

In the calm of the quiet
In the calm of the loneliness
I question what the world will be
I search for answers within
I wonder why, I wonder why, I need you so much

A touch of warmth, a touch of love, a touch of comfort
The things we need, a human need, to keep us sane
To ease our minds and wash away the pains of the world
And when it's gone we are lost, we cannot find our way
For the things we love, we want so much
All we need is just a touch
