A Little Reflection

A Little Reflection

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

Just a thought

"

Where are we in this dark world
Trying to climb and reach the brass ring
Telos, destiny, fate, and all those things we wish
We could achieve, we could dreams
Until we realize...

This world is never as it seems
Perfection is just a little off from perfect
Happiness only comes from knowledge of sadness
The blind can see the clearest
The deaf are more in tune with the sound of serenity
And I am still begging for more information

I don't know how it all began
The big bang or a gentle whisper
I have now seen pictures of Armageddon
So I can only live in the now
So I can only see the world go on forever
I want to live as if nothing matters

I have began to understand the contrast of night
It's the only time most suns will shine
But it only takes one to light our lives
The night is a time of cold
But it warms hearts with it's romance
It reminds us that of all the chances
Our now is the one that matters

And when the times comes
When I await my turn to enter those gates
Off to feed the trees
When I look over, when I look back
Will the world be a little brighter
And will be one of those lucky ones
To die with the brass ring in hand

About
I began writing back in '94 and I've been in love with it ever since. Music has a big influence on how I write, and what topics I choose to write about. I like to write a clever piece every now and th.. more..
