XQ

XQ

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

My attempt at mixing in spanish with my favorite tequila and poetry

"

Dos XQ por favor
I need to forget
Dos XQ seňor
To wash away my sorrow and regret
Leave the bottle behind to help me leave the pain
Dos XQ por favor
I need to forget

Seems I’ve been running for a long time
I can’t find a destination, a home of mine
Father Time and Lady Luck don’t seem to be friends of mine
Dos XQ para mi seňor
A sweet way to unwind

And when I look at this world
I wonder what I could do to make it right
Can I find peace, a sense of happiness
Someone to help me make better sense of this life
Dos XQ seňor, to help my tears dry
Dos XQ por favor, to help fill the hole in my heart

When the time comes, I’ll have to say goodbye to this dreary night
Peel myself off this barstool and go back out to the reality of life
I beg you seňor, dos XQ uno mas por favor
One for the road, one for hope
That when I come back it will be a better day
I can say dos XQ seňor, lets raise out glasses high
Dos XQ por favor, do XQ in better times

Author's Note

Blake Q Hatfield
I just thought that the use of spanish would make the poem more tragic/romantic. I used XQ because it's one of my favorite alcohols. The fact that tequila is made in a spanish speaking country had no baring of choosing to use spanish. I was kind of thinking of a Refreshment tune like Nada.
