Ms Misery

Ms Misery

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

Sometimes people tend to evoke drama just for attention sake, and they love to draw someone in who'll rescue them whenever they have a dramatic episode. This is about the saver becoming wise to the game.

"

Hey Miss Misery
Do want me to fall at your feet
Be the jester of your pity party
Shine my attention on you
And shed a tear for your pain

Oh Miss Misery
Why should I care about you
You have torn into my soul
Cut my high hopes down so low
And laughed at my dreams

All I wanted was your friendship
But Miss Misery
All you wanted was a subject
Someone ready at your beckon call
And for sometime I played the fool

You're not fooling anyone Miss Misery
Take that fake threat from your life
You're not fooling anyone
Life is so much better than this moment
You're not fooling anyone
You're ego is already inflated
And for awhile I was the fool

I was the fool who ran to your aid
I was the dreamer who fell at your feet
But now I have grown wise to your pity game
So Miss Misery I wish you well
I hope you grow up and live well
But for now Miss Misery
I shall not be one of those who will fall for you
I have grown wise
I have overcome your harsh words
I have become better
No longer a pawn to you Miss Misery
I have better things and times to pay attention to
So, so long Miss Misery
You're not fooling anyone
