Sunny Side Up Day

All about the bright side of things. Kinda inspired by what my mom called eggs done yolks down. A few places I go look at me strange when I ask for sunny side down eggs, but I still do it anyway.

Tell me about this greater sunny day
Tell me about this day dream
The bright light at the end of the tunnel
Where everything is gonna be alright
A sunny side up day

Sometimes the world is full of horror and pain
Sometimes it's a bit too much to take
This burns up and destroys many inside
And people sometimes hold to the pan with pride
Seems like they don't know anything better than that
But I remember someone told me
That things can be better, things can be great
If we all just try to live above the rain
If we try for something more in life

People hear me as I say
There are brighter days
Oh my friends. there's so much to do and achieve
Life is so full of possibility
So wonderful and pretty like an pear tree
We gotta learn to reach up high
Grab the fruit and take a bite of life
Forget that frown, sunny side down
And turn things over to a new day
A sunny side up day

Oh tell me of your day dreamin'
Tell me of those bright spots of life
I want to feel the love and light
To go on to brighter days
To do more with these dreams
And live a sunny side up day

Blake, this has such a cheery tone to it. In a world where there is so much negativity and dark poetry, even on the Cafe, this is a welcomed write. Your title caught me right away and drew me right in.
