My heart on a cliff
Standing there in that flowing dress
With blue wildflowers in hand and hair
Hair flowing in the gentle breeze
And all I can see as turns to me
Are her beautiful ocean eyes
She’s something of a surprise
A stare that could only be called healing
A view more substantial than on a catwalk
No feathers are seen, but I’m sure she has wings
‘Cause all I can see is a halo
From the sun smiling at her
I don’t care what the world says
I don’t take too well to talk of stations and difference
I have tried to ascend beyond the politics of social order
All my eyes can see are something beautiful and pure
All I know is there she is; someone who could everything and more
And all I have to do is leave this window and walk out the door
If I climb high and reach the peak
I can be by her side
My heart on a cliff
Holding hands, side by side
Staring into the beauty of the sea
Watching the sun set into its depths
Thinking nothing of the past and future
It’s here and now that’s perfect and true
Even when the words are felt rather than said
