The Mother Is a Moses

The Mother Is a Moses

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

Kinda about Moses' mother, and mothers in general kinda, and the sacrifices they sometimes must make.

"

and she cried with the river as it said goodbye
left all alone and torn apart
she had an empty blood filled heart
science gave her no remorse
but still she searches the sky for an answer

oh mother, what you did was right
it was the only way
but still her pain remains
still she pleads to the sky for answers
and still her blood filled heart is empty

what else could she do
to hope on the faith in the non concrete
to let fate as we know it take over
put her egg in a basket and let it flow
let the river take it, let her future go

how was she to know what would become of her dream
how was she to know he would be the one
she only knew her heart
her mind was taken away by love for the future
so she put hers in the river
and tured to the sky for a promise of hope

as her dream grew, it became a nightmare
but soon it was to be a becon
it would be her promise from the sky
it would be her future return by the divine
science of nowhere we know, faith from inside
her future would deliver her present from pain
her future would bring them to their promise from the sky

and when she was to die she thought of her dream
she cried with the river that day
and looked to the sky for an answer
now she goes to that promise
because her dream was true
and her future the light

mother rejoice and go to the light
you gave us a future
you gave us a dream
it is your time to return to the sky
for your sacrifice gave us hope
throught love from your blood filled heart
you gave us everything and more

This poem portrays perfectly what moses's mother must have been feeling when she let him go. I myself, love the story of moses, and intrigued by it. What made you do a poem about this long lost story, I do not know, but I give you kudos for it. Thinking outside the box is a plus, and most people don't really practice that. The fact that you wrote about something no one else even thinks of, amazes me. You took a bold step writing about this peice, and you did good on it. The way you started the poem with an 'and', makes me think that there was something else into it all. It makes you wonder, you know? Well anyways, you did an awesome Job. I can't wait to see more from you soon.=]
