The Good Times

Just about those things that make you feel great, those moments we always want to have.

And I can see the beautiful blue skies
I can feel the sweet embrace of the wind
I can feel the ocean and sand at my feet
And for once I'm feelin' alright

And on those days we gotta take it all in
We gotta enjoy those good times
Forget the trees and enjoy the forest
Jump in and begin to see something you haven't before
And don't forget to smile

I'm surrounded by my greatest friends
Full of the exhilaration of this day
No worries and the BBQ is fired up
Music is just low enough for conversation and dance
Spirits and good cheer are in endless supply
Not to mention the beverages are just right
No cloud cover, and we're all gettin' along
Not a villain in sight in this sea of good times

I'm so glad I could experience this natural high
I'm so glad my smile won't go away
I thank God for a day like this
Because the sunshine feels like He's smiling on me
And the moonlight feels like Her kind embrace
With the stars the twinkle and wink of God's grace
SO wondrous are the good times

No one cares what we're wearing
So long as we feel comfortable
There are no judgments or snide remarks
Everything said is without restraint, without pomp and circumstance
No nervous interaction, we are all ready to just have fun
And forget the difference we built up long ago
That's the miracle of the good times

We've forgot the mistakes we've made
We've started to focus on those good points
We're learning, we're growing, we're having a blast
Nothing is coming between us and this awesome affair
We starting to understand the meaning of true love
Things are pure and wise in the good times

Sometimes the world can bring you down
Sometimes things are so difficult and painful
Sometimes you feel you can't get out of this rut
But this time is different
This time there is only the good times
We are full of joy, full of hope, full of understanding and love
We are filled with the complex simplicity that is being alive
We are in the good times
