Lady & Lad

This poem is about the connection of two people. My idea was to do two poems that eventually connected in the final part of the poem. Each could be read separately, but could also be read together.

 

I saw you from afar                           Something made me notice your eyes

I was entrance by your style               Your glance took my surprise

Suddenly I found myself walking         And I wondered what this could all be about

          

                                    And then we met

 

I was nervous as could be                  Something about your charm made me weak

You were more than a pretty smile     I could tell you were sincere and true

We could talk for a million years        Every word seemed like part of a symphony

I wondered what you thought             I wondered what was on your mind

           

                           And then we felt something more

 

Time is a relative thing                   With each day comes something new

My heart beating like a drum           My mind full with a million thoughts

Wondering if you feel what I do       Thinking that there could be something special

I could see myself falling                 I could see myself letting you in

          

                                   And then we fell in love

 

Seems like I've met my everything    Seems like I have found my dream

I have never felt such a pull              I never thought reality could be so sweet

With this I am complete                   With this I am whole

My one and only rescue angel            My one and only love

I know that this could be                  I know that this is forever

 

                                   And then we knew

                              Nothing standing in our way

                               A love that will never fade

                               Joined forever at the soul

                           Wanting nothing more than this

                         More beautiful than the setting sun

                           We are as one, a perfect unity

                                    Of this lady and lad
