RainA Poem by Blake Q HatfieldA positive look at something that is normally considered a downer, but when you think about it, it's something we all welcome at times.
There's something comforting about the rain
The time when it's just a dash above a sprinkle
People hide from it under their hoods and umbrellas
Their eyes now focused on the ground
And where they're getting to
It eases me into sanity when they can't see me
It relaxes my paranoia if only for awhile
Everyone seems to get wet in the rain
But for some reason I stay the driest I've ever been
The cool of the rain relaxes me into calmness
It relaxes my paranoia if only for awhile
I like it when it rains
It makes all the pain into dirt and just washes it away
Most people want the rain to go away
But sometimes it is a welcomed savior
Bringing the cool and comfort back to a ravaged land
It's gotta rain sometimes they always say
And when it does, we must all go inside to play
Gather round one another and discuss our many days
To get a bit closer, to understand a little more
For something so dreary,
There is something special about the rain
