For Your Love, What Shall I Do?

For Your Love, What Shall I Do?

A Poem by Blake Fodor

Shall I be a minstrel
and sing you my love?

Shall I be a poet
and recite to you?

or

shall I be a jester
and make you smile?

at last be an actor
and bring a tear
to your eye!

I will be all these things,
that I could win your heart,
for mine is already beating your name,
each beat, a serenade
to your beauty,
as an ode
to love.

The theme blends nicely with the honesty that pervades the poem. This is a sweetness in you Blake that is to be commend.

This was so lovely and you could really feel the emotion in it. I loved the jester stanza, that is what I would want my love to always be, but my favorite stanza is the last one, particularly this line:

that I could win your heart,
for mine is already beating your name,

Very well done!
