Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Blake Fodor

With patience, I ask for your emergence
Here by my side, where I am implied
While marching moments, mutely torments

An eternity, in severity
Has bestowed a union, of a companion-
No, not with your magnitude, but with solitude

I keep on talking, and unlocking
All my precious emotions, vast as oceans
And only on my friend hereby, do I rely

I keep on waiting, endurance initiating
But the pain, I cannot refrain,
It takes the breath, and touch in-depth

This heavy toll, wrenches my soul
But I must, keep the trust
On my wait, for times ahead

Or should I, untie-
This loop of pause, and eventually cross-
This border, of disorder!

At least this end, I have a friend
To share my presence, my innocence!
You have returned my youth, my new friend

- solitude…solitude…

The third stanza plunged me into the depths of a tempo lento for the remainder of the poem. I felt myself submerged in that ocean of precious emotions, slowed down by their rushing buoyancy.

You've written from your feelings, a myriad of emotions, about solitude. In the end of it you come full circle (back to youth) and like the wave, your emotions ebb and flow. All in all a complex poem which I get the sense of a cycle continuing. I wouldn't be surprised if you continue working on this.
