In life we see others or even ourselves being givers or takers. Your poem gives the reader some food for thought and offers a view of harsh realities. Yet you take with this offering as well. You take the time of the reader. You accept the praise or discussion of fellow writers thoughts. Even the subject has shown the giving and taking of his/her character flaws.
I see a lesson here. I am learning to give more and take less. It is more blessed to give than to receive, yet someone must be willing to receive for others to have the blessings of giving.
Interesting write and I like the inclusion of the thought of "holy man" as spirituality plays a major role in altruism or heresy.
How often we run into this type of person in our professional, volunteer and recreational life. You have described this so well here. I like the style, and the message.
I know this person! How brilliant. Seriously, doesn't everyone, and that is what makes this poem so purrfect -- sorry, sometimes I take the cat thing a little too far. A wonderful write.
Religious figures... celebrities... what is the difference really? Great thought provoking poem. I enjoyed how you set it up, it made for a very smooth read.
