Still Alone

Still Alone

A Poem by Blake Blackstone

I fell in love with you so long ago
You left me for him all alone
You come back out of the blue
Will the whole please of "I love you"
They say if it meant to be it will come back
This person who I once loved no longer exists
It is just a shell of you with a different core
What's your motivation here? Wait, what is mine?
You are not the same person you used to be
I can see the one I loved but you aren't home.
Your insides are different and your are changed
Your once beautiful body has now been desecrated
Maybe you learned a lesson but it's too late
You've ruined two lives and left some scars.
I can touch you, but your not there.
I'm calling for the one I loved. ...Hello? Am I still alone?
...
...
...Love?...
...
...yep, I'm still alone.

Some people just aren't the same once they leave you...sad, really. Then they pathetically come crawling back, begging you, telling you they love you, when it's really just them being lonely. You wonder why you put up with them the first time around, then they come back all destroyed. People just don't realize how good they have it sometimes...
