I'd Taste

Freewriting

I wish we shared our lives
I'd get to taste sweet happiness
I'd taste it until I'm full
My life alone is empty

We are all human
and we are all to blame
I should have known better
than to open myself up

A third party keeps saying
Saying things I hope are not true
prone to telling lies but yet
So determined that I can't help but let it get to me.

I am trembling at the thought
I am breathing like thin air
I sit in my misery and need
Waiting for  .........................nothing...............

I wish we shared our lives
I'd get to taste sweet happiness
I'd taste it until I choke
on all the lies you have been keeping

-Or maybe I'm becoming schizophrenic
A young adult male is about that time.-

Yes you are right. We are all human. Simple needs and be left alone to our desires and needs. I like the feel of this poem. When I see a child hurt or wounded. I see a child. Not a Iraq or USA kid. Just humans being trample on by the desire of hate and violence. A excellent poem. You made me think.
