to answer your author's note, yes I did. The last four lines were my favorite, because you emphasized what I interpreted to be the final stand. No turning back, because you've already made your choice to leave, though it was a hard choice, but you think that person might be better off.

The desperation is coming from the speaker. The speaker is desperate for the loved one to miss them. Thank you for the review, though, it is much appreciated.

I wasn't flustered, I was merely re-stating. The only reason I am flustered is there is no option to use italics or bold or anything in comments. If I could have, I would have italicized the words. My apologies if I came off as angry.

Because quotation marks are annoying and I use them all the time. I feel the same for them as you do the Shift key. Use them only when you must.
